We give a lot of importance to quality education. Like most of this era, my family believes in (high quality) education being the empowering pathway to a well-balanced and successful life. The fact that all three core male members of my family have min one degree from IIT or IIM bears witness to this. I have an MBA degree and an engineering degree from reputed colleges of India - B.TECH from IIT ROORKEE and MBA from IIM CALCUTTA. I work as an INVESTMENT ASSOCIATE in Real Estate Private Equity in MUMBAI. My sole younger brother has also got an MBA degree from IIM Calcutta. He did Engineering (graduation) from Delhi College of Engineering, Delhi. At present, he is an NRI (working in a top multinational company of Germany, and presently settled there). After graduation, he worked in NMDC & NTPC (both Govt. of India undertakings) and after post graduation in Kirloskar, Pune. I have a sister who is now doing BBA-LLB from CNLU Patna. My father has got M.Tech degree from IIT Roorkee. He... more is now retired from Class A post (Executive Engineer) in the Govt. of Bihar and is living in Greater Noida(UP). My mother is a house wife by choice. She has done MA, MBA, etc. My sole maternal uncle is a Commander with Air India and is based in Calcutta. My sole paternal uncle is an officer in the State Bank of India and is posted in Patna. Our family gives a lot of importance to a person/family of good character and of progressive thinking irrespective of the caste/state, profession, etc he or she belongs to (ie, Caste/State/Profession NO BAR). We belong to an upper middle class nuclear family with liberal values.
We would prefer an initial telephonic conversation between the parents, girl and the boy followed by an in-person meeting between girl and the boy and subsequently between the two families.
